In honor of the 45th Anniversary of the NASA moon landing coming up on July 20th, Android Homme has designed something out of this world. After teaming up with GE and Jack Threads, Homme has come up with ‘The Missions’, the first limited edition moon boot sneaker. The sneaker will be made by the same materials used for jet engine components and for actual moon boots. The ‘super’ materials being used include stabilized carbon fiber, thermoplastic rubber, and a hydrophobic coating. There will only be 100 of these hightop sneakers made and they will only be available at a certain time. The Missions will be exclusively available through Jack Threads on July 20th at exactly 4:18 PM. This is the same time the Apollo landed on the moon, but the homage to the historical event doesn’t end there. The sneakers will also be priced at $196.00 because the year was 1996 when it occurred, this year is displayed on the back of both the shoes.
