Captiv8 has received an incredible letter in the mail from a customer whom was more than satisfied by our services. Several years ago we were approached by a teacher named Jesse from Richmond Hill Elementary School in Queens, New York. They came to us hoping that our services would be able to work within their budget, which many other companies could not. Their request was simple, custom ribbons for their school’s highly anticipated Ribbon Day, which has grown to be very important to the students, staff, and community.
On this day, the children are given 3 ribbons that say “Who I Am Makes A Difference”; one for themselves, one to give to somebody close to them, and one for a stranger that they think deserves it. Many people who receive these ribbons are postal workers, fire-fighters, police officers, and crossing guards. The citizens who receive these ribbons from the kids are encouraged to “pay it forward” and because of this, the inspirational ribbons have been all over New York City, Pennsylvania, Texas, England, India, Trinidad, and Guyana!
That is such an achievement, but that’s not all the school wanted to thank us for! For 9 years Captiv8 has been sending them “gold junk” as the writer likes to call it. That is referring to our leftover products that we have been sending the school, which motivates the children to work harder and become better students. The pedometers, hats, mugs, book lights, and key chains that we send provide the kids with a goal to work up to. Jesse wrote, “Junk to you, becomes gold to the children of Richmond Hill”, which we were so glad to hear.
The school, staff and students thanked us at the end of the letter with rewarding us with our own ribbon. They thanked us for helping the children look at the world differently and encouraging them to thank the people who do so much for them. We couldn’t have felt more appreciated and will happily continue to “pay it forward” and provide the students of Richmond Hill the rewards that they deserve!
