“The Revenant” is a new film starring Leonardo DiCaprio as a fur trapper named Hugh Glass, who’s left behind from his hunting time, has to use his survival skills to fight his way to survive the snowy wilderness. So far, the film’s ratings are nothing but positive and have already received two awards and multiple film nominations. In order to further promote the movie, The Revenant team teamed up with Geoaching.com for it’s interactive promotional campaign. Revenant fans will have access to props, as long as they are willing to venture into the woods. The team took various film props and buried them around the world encouraging the fans to find the props, tweet a picture using the hashtag, and then burying the prop again for another fan to find; basically a catch-and-release type of promotion.
