On Friday, September 11, 2015, Welk Resorts in San Diego, California hosted their first annual “Patriots on the Green” charity golfing tournament event. The event was to both raise awareness and benefit the Wounded Warriors Project (WWP); a project that focuses on fulfilling the needs of injured service members through specific programs and aid services. As of September 1, 2015, WWP has served 76,886 servicemen and women with physical and/or mental injuries, illnesses, and/or wounds; and has helped 13,088 service men and women’s family’s that were effected from the attacks on September 11, 2011.
The event was hosted by Kyle Kraska, the Emmy-Award winning Sports Director for CBS News 8. The event began with a touching tribute to the heroes of 9/11, following a golf tournament among other golfers, celebrities, military personnel, and service men and women.
In order to show gratitude to clients and those who partook and donated for this special cause, Captiv8 was honored to donate custom gift bags with an engraved logo of the event’s title “Patriots on the Green”. The bags were intended to draw attention due to their metallic engraved logo and the sharp navy blue gift bag. Captiv8’s designed gift bag could easily be reused due to it’s durable and quality material. In addition to the bags, Captiv8 and their partner Peerless Umbrellas, customized and donated an MVP Golf umbrella for the event’s silent auction.
