Everyone’s excited about the Summer Olympics, but in 2020. Yup, we all know that the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics are right around the corner, but with this new Zika virus invading Brazil, many athletes and spectators have put their Olympic dreams on hold. These athletes are already looking ahead to the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo, and they aren’t the only ones.
Last week, the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games unveiled the first official merchandise for the event. And, according to Inside the Games, on the first day of the release, 15 of the 26 product lines sold out online.
Captiv8 loves the design of these products and that Japan is ready to go, 4 years in advance. The products, which include T-shirts, polo shirts, pin badges, key holders, neck straps and towels, feature the new Tokyo 2020 logo. Even though this event isn’t taking place for another four years, merchandise is selling out like crazy! In fact, the organizing committee expects the merchandise to generate $120 million before and during the event.
