The V Foundation for Cancer Research is celebrating 20 years of service and hard work. It was started by the late Jim Valvano, the former college basketball coach and basketball commentator. The foundation works to support cancer research and has awarded more than $100 million to more than 100 facilities worldwide.
ESPN is a partner with The V Foundation. At the ESPN headquarters, located in Bristol, Connecticut, for a donation you can have a personalized brick that will be placed outside. In honor of the milestone we were happy to help create a custom product for ESPN. Captiv8 designed piggy banks that resemble bricks. On the front of each brick it states the foundation and the famous quote from Jim Valvano’s 1993 ESPY awards; “Don’t give up…don’t ever give up.” On the back of the product it says: I helped build ESPN’s path to Serve the Sports Fan.
