May Be the First Promotional Totem Pole You’ve Seen!

May Be the First Promotional Totem Pole You’ve Seen!

On May 25-June 1, you may have seen a giant boat with a Mickey Mouse pool or a fantasy-like décor around the boat. Yes, that was the Disney Wonder cruise as it made its way around to Alaska, and in seven nights, every cruise member will have seen parts of Alaska. The Disney Wonder has 11 public decks, and can accommodate 2,400 passengers in 875 staterooms. As a gift to thank the members of Disney Vacation Club, Captiv8 created a masterpiece promotional totem pole with five different Disney characters. The in-room gifts, such as the totem pole, are intended to point out the wild and adventurous concept of the voyage.

Captiv8 designed and produced 2,600 totem poles. Originally, Disney suggested using wood to carve and create the totem poles. However, Captiv8 suggested another material, polyresin, to use for the entire pole. Polyresin is the same material that is used to make bobble heads, allowing a great level of detail with consistent texture. Using the polyresin, Captiv8 was able to put together the totem poles with extraordinary and meticulous detail, specifically for each character’s features. Last in the process was the coloring; each of the 2,600 totem poles were carefully and perfectly painted just like the computer mock up that was provided by Disney. The outcome of the poles was overwhelmingly successful. Captiv8 did something Disney suggested may not be possible, however exceeded expectations and created the most unique promotional product.
