The fashion brand Emilio Pucci has raised quite the hype around their outlandish new product, the skateboard (#rollingwithpucci). Pucci is a brand known for it’s geometric prints in a kaleidoscope of colors within products such as dresses, skirts, or bags. But when Pucci took this wild turn and began to design skateboards, the brand’s reputation turned from standard to innovative, creative, and unpredictable; therefore reaching and appealing to a whole new sector of consumers.
Pucci proved that it doesn’t matter what your company’s specialty is, in order to reach a larger sector of consumers, you’ll have to take a unique leap in creating something that appeals to that larger crowd. Pucci put their signature design/graphic on the back of the skateboard, while putting the original and more obvious logo on the top of the skateboard. The other board pictured was created for Jameson® Irish Whiskey; they decided to put the full logo on the bottom of the board and to leave the top blank.
